South of Galicia on the border with Portugal is the city of Tui, former capital of the Kingdom of Galicia and entrance of the Portuguese Way to Santiago de Compostela. Today it stands out for its medieval streets and its Cathedral-fortress of the SS. XII-XIII, San Telmo Church, Misericordia Church, Santa Clara Convent  … Opposite, in Portugal, is Valença do Minho, an attractive border town that is still enclosed within the walls of the 17th century fortress.
